Looking to Avoid Traffic and Spend Less Time in Your Car? Try Waze! There is one commodity in life that you can never generate more of, and for Realtors it’s like gold. What I that commodity? TIME! Whether it be showing houses, driving to listing appointments, or just heading to the office, Realtors spend an enormous amount of time in their cars. Waze is an app that can make sure you minimize your drive time and avoid unseen traffic complications. Now owned by Google, Waze is a traffic app that is peer based, so it is constantly being updated. What does that mean? Here’s an example.
You are driving along and suddenly the freeway comes to a standstill. You are debating whether to take the next off-ramp, or to continue on. With Waze, a driver 2 miles ahead of you passes the accident that is causing the backup and tells Waze about it. Now trough your Waze app you know that there is an accident 2 miles ahead and you should take that exit and thus save 30 minutes of bumper to bumper traffic. It’s like your friend calling and telling you to take the back roads!
Waze will also give you turn by turn directions, show speed maps, tell you if there are police ahead, show you intersections with red light cameras, and more. It’s a giant network of people working together to make sure that your commute is short and uneventful. I’ve found it most useful when I’m trying to navigate rush hour traffic or wanting to do a quick trip check before heading across town. I can honestly say it has saved me hours of sitting in my car on multiple occasions and it will do the same for you.
